Why are oil-free screw blowers more efficient and durable?

Low speed and stable operation:

Due to their lower speed, screw blowers are less susceptible to environmental influences in dusty industries (such as cement, metallurgy, and thermal power) than centrifugal blowers. High-speed centrifugal blowers in dusty environments can easily cause dust to enter the impeller, leading to problems such as surging, low pressure, and impeller wear, which in turn affect the efficiency and lifespan of the blower.

The operating principle of a screw blower is that two parallel male and female rotors mesh together in an "∞"-shaped cylinder to create a working volume. Synchronous gears rotate the rotors in opposite directions at high speed. As the rotors rotate, the working volume changes periodically, simultaneously compressing the gas during the gas transport process. This operating principle enables screw blowers to operate efficiently and stably during both gas transport and compression.

 

Features of Positive Displacement Gas Power Equipment:

Screw blowers are positive displacement gas power equipment. Their gas delivery and compression process is continuous and gradual, resulting in minimal airflow pulsation. This allows screw blowers to maintain high efficiency during the gas compression process.

The positive displacement principle also means that even if fine dust particles enter the compression chamber, operation is not affected, resulting in enhanced dust resistance and wear resistance, thereby extending the blower's service life.

 

Oil-free Design Reduces Maintenance:

Oil-free screw blowers utilize an oil-free design, eliminating the maintenance issues associated with traditional screw blowers, such as lubricant contamination and leaks. This oil-free design not only improves gas purity but also reduces maintenance costs associated with lubricant changes and leak detection.

It also reduces performance degradation and increased failure rates caused by lubricant aging and deterioration.

 

Structural Advantages:

Screw blowers have a simple structure, primarily consisting of a housing, main unit, motor, air filter, muffler, oil pump tank, and oil filter (oil-free systems do not include the oil pump tank and oil filter). This simple structure makes screw blowers easier to manufacture, install, and maintain.

The structure of the screw main unit directly impacts blower performance. Optimizing the design of components such as the housing, screw rotor, gearbox, bearings, and shaft seal ensures stable and reliable operation.

 

Wide Application and Adaptability:

Due to their high efficiency, stability, energy efficiency, and low noise levels, screw blowers are widely used in aeration, air-water backwashing, textile processing, oxidative desulfurization, fluidization/homogenization processes, and pneumatic conveying. This wide range of applications demonstrates the efficiency and durability of screw blowers.
